Residuum Upgrading Project for TÜPRAŞ İzmit refinery:
It was the project to convert the residues of the TÜPRAŞ refineries to valuable product, mainly diesel. The Complex total investment cost is around 4 billion USD and it is now in operation.
Conceptual Design:
- LP Model update of İzmit, İzmir and Kırıkkale refineries and addition and integration of new Units such as Hydrocracker, Ebullated Bed Hydrocrackers, Solvent Deasphalting for various lifts, Coker, FlexiCoking, High Severity FCC, Deepcut Vacuum Flasher, IGCC, Gasification for Hydrogen Production.
Assessments of 12 different configurations for more than dozen different crude types (a risk based financial assessment methodology is used and for each configuration, 5000 price scenarios are evaluated).
October 2006 – March 2017- Team Leader.
- Validations of first four configurations with highest IRR/NPV and lowest risk with Snamprogetti and selection of final configuration- and finalization of the capacities for İzmit Refinery
